Clotaire K

In a recent Belly Dance workshop in Las Vegas with Heather Stants of "Urban Tribal Dance Company", I was introduced to the music of Clotaire K, and really enjoyed it from the beginning. When I got home, I googled him, and found His site, where I was introduced to scenes of Beirut that I had never witnessed before, and found myself quite impressed with the man behind the music that I enjoyed. Shortly after that, I ordered his Cd, have pretty much been listening to it ever since, and am now quite the fan.

You can imagine how excited I was when he agreed to doing an interview with me for my little blog here. Read more... )

~If you have high speed, you can listen to some of Clotaire's music on his site. I have dial up, so I had to go the Womax site to listen. They also have a bit of a profile on him there.

First and foremost - [info]treaclelilly has a new song out, and I really love it! It's the love song she never wrote for her husband, and she says that she has a cold and sore throat while singing it. I couldn't tell. I wish that my connection was better, because I had to listen to it in pieces. LOL It was well worth the wait though.

Apparently the Ice dancing isn't dead and there's competitions tonight. I'm going to give it a try. I'm really trying very hard to enjoy the Olympics, but after watching it several days, I find that it's getting harder and harder to turn the TV to NBC at night. Last night I watched the rednecks on Comedy Central.

Though, there's something interesting in the aforementioned link -

When I took Heather Stants' workshop in Vegas last weekend, we were dancing to an artist called "Clotaire K", and what a wonderfully unique sound he has! He's french, of Lebanese, and Egyptian decent, and he combines middle eastern music with hip hop. Looooove it!

If you have high speed, you can listen to some of his music on his site. He also has photo stories about himself, and Beirut there - I enjoyed it.

I have dial up, so I had to go the Womax site for a free song listen. They also have a bit of a profile on him there.

"Clotaire K has succeeded in creating the alchemy between hip hop & traditional oriental music. Polyglot ambassador of true musical, linguistic and cultural interbreeding, Clotaire has one foot in Beirut and another in
Manhattan."
